My new life in Cilento
My new life in Cilento: from busy entrepreneur to free life
There was a time when I thought I had it all together. My business was running like a well-oiled machine, my diary was full of appointments and my bank account looked fine. But somewhere along the way, I lost myself. The world was changing – faster, more superficial, harsher – and I felt less and less at home in it. It was as if I was living on autopilot, stuck in a system that no longer felt like ‘my world’. I was successful, but no longer fulfilled.
Then came that tipping point. First there was burnout, triggered by a series of events that turned my whole world upside down. I met my Italian father – a man I hadn’t known all my life – and soon after, my marriage broke up. The final straw was that I had to give up my business to what I call parasitic vultures. Everything I saw as my foundation until then suddenly seemed to fall away. I felt like I was losing everything that once gave me security.
I knew: if I continued like this, I would remain trapped in a life that was no longer mine. I had to break out of it – not just make some adjustments, but radically change course.
The leap to Cilento
I ended up in Cilento, a region where time seems to slow down and nature is in control. The mountains, the sea, the tranquillity – it felt like I could finally breathe here. No rushing, no noise, no constant pressure to do or have ‘more’. Just me, the sun and the space to start anew.
I started small. I found a modest place with a new love, a little house surrounded by greenery. No luxury, but everything I needed. From there I started a project, not to become big or successful again, but to do something truly meaningful. I wanted to create a place for people like me: people who feel that the old system no longer suits them and who long for a simpler, more authentic life.
A place for like-minded people
My project is small-scale, intentional. No mass tourism, no rush. People come here who are themselves at a crossroads. They are looking for peace, but also inspiration. A place where they can break free from their old patterns and discover what they really want. I do not offer ready-made answers – you have to find those yourself. But I share my experience and help them find the peace they need to set their own course.
We work together in the garden, cook with local produce, take walks through the hills and sit by a fire with a glass of wine in the evening. It is not about leaving everything behind, but taking the right thing with us. Not living to work, but working to live a life that suits you.
What I learned myself
I thought I lost everything when I left my old life behind. But I actually gained so much. Freedom. Peace. Real connections with people I meet here. And above all: the feeling that I am living my own life again, not someone else’s.
It has not been an easy path. Doubts, fears and discomfort have been there too. But what I discovered is that you are only truly free when you dare to let go of what no longer serves you. And that happiness is not in what you have, but in how you live.
Ready for your own change?
If you are reading this and something inside you says ‘I recognise this’, then you probably already know that something needs to change. Maybe it’s time to embrace your own tipping point. Whether that means leaving everything behind, or simply looking at your current life differently – the choice is yours.
And if you want help with that, you are welcome in Cilento. Here there is space, peace, and a place to start afresh. Just like I did.
